2012 Holiday Greetings from The Kendalls

Holiday Greetings from The California Kendalls!

Savannah, Lesli, Charlotte & Dan
In 2012 nothing happened to Wally.  We just wanted to share this embarrassing photo of him.

Savannah - 15
Savannah (15) is a sophomore at El Segundo High.  She toiled through summer school to avoid a 6:45 class this year!  Her dad drags her to college prep-exams and campus tours.  She is a gifted photographer, styles her own hair and you should see her dance.  She will sing with her school choir in DC at inauguration festivities next month.  During our Thanksgiving vacation at an AZ Dude Ranch, she helped Dan & Lesli win a ribbon in a cattle herding contest.  She’s participated in the Young Americans musical outreach program 5 straight years.

Charlotte - 12
Cable Car Ride!
Charlotte (12) is in 7th grade at the Middle School.  She is a jack-of-all trades; deep-frying donuts-from-scratch in the morning and deep-sea fishing that evening.  She bought an iPod this summer and can seemingly do anything with it.  She loves weekend trips to the mountains, summer or winter.  Her highlight of a weekend trip to San Francisco was hanging out the side of a cable car.  She joined us for beach clean-up day and loved the rope swing over the Santa Ynez River during our summer camping trip.

Dan & Lesli celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.  In addition to the usual garden produce, Lesli coaxed apples, peppers and our first nectarine out of the garden.  She carved another dog-rescue-notch on her belt, and organized our camping and ski trips.  During summer we hosted Lesli’s best-friend’s son while he completed an internship for UCLA.  Lesli fed him and regularly embarrassed him with his baby pictures!

Thanks to a couple of weddings in Georgia, Dan enjoyed two family reunions.  May brought us nephew Harper & Michelle’s nuptials, and in October we went to nephew Brandon & Ashley’s wedding.  The happy occasion was the same weekend as the annual fundraiser for the ALS Society of GA – our family has participated since it started a decade ago.  He also had a fun fishing trip with his dad (E.P.) and brother-in-law (Kirk).  He still plays basketball thanks to the 4th food group (Advil).

Sydney, Charlotte, Wally & Savannah
Sydney hit 14 this month.  Despite lingering effects from a stroke, almost no hearing and partial blindness, she hasn’t retired from raising us.

Here’s hoping someone special is still raising you this holiday season,

Dan, Lesli, Savannah, Charlotte, Sydney & Wally
